Remote Learning at BGCL

November 06, 2020

As a state-approved Remote Learning Center, the club supports working families and children that face difficult learning environments at home.

Why?

  • 65% of members live in single-parent homes, without school help or alone while parents work.
  • Lack of Wi-Fi at home is a huge problem for families!
  • Many students have no workspace and lots of distractions.

We serve:

  • Up to 40 students every day.
  • Maximum 10 kids and 1 staff per classroom, for safety.
  • 2nd — 8th graders

How it works:

  • 8 AM to 1 PM, during Lawrence Public School remote learning hours.
  • Students utilize reliable club Wi-Fi and quiet workspace to access Zoom classes on Chromebooks provided by the school district.
  • Adults supervise, provide technical help and academic motivation.
  • During breaks, kids play in the club gymnasium to stretch their legs!

BGCL extends its thanks to Lawrence Public Schools and community parents who have partnered with us to ensure continued, excellent education for our children. Kids walk in our doors excited to learn!
