Celebrating National Boys & Girls Club Week from April 8-12

April 04, 2019

As we celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week from April 8-12, we at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence thank the community at large for its continuing support in providing youth with access to quality programs and services that enrich their lives and shape their futures.

Each day, we hear heartwarming stories describing how the club has changed the lives of our 4,000 youth members who come for supper each night, homework help, fitness and nutrition programs, college and career planning and lasting personal relationships.

This week, we pause to acknowledge those who make a difference in helping fulfill our mission of changing kids' lives. We are particularly grateful to our donors, board and committee members, volunteers and staff members who support our work through their selfless commitments of time and talent.

We are also appreciative to the caring officials, businesses, foundations and agencies that partner with us to reach underserved youth. Above all, we are humbled by the local families who entrust us with America's most precious gift: our youth.

This powerful combination literally keeps our doors open. Our shared success is evident when considering the vast majority of the club's high school seniors graduate and pursue higher education.

We invite you to join in celebrating National Boys & Girls Club Week, a time of hope and opportunity for the entire community. Learn firsthand how "Great Futures Start Here" by calling me at (978) 683-2747, ext. 111 to schedule a tour.

In gratitude,
Markus Fischer, Executive Director
