Miles for Bright Futures: Our 2026 Boston Marathon Team

We are thrilled to announce our 2026 Boston Marathon runners — Mackenzie Hansen and Isabela Miller — who are lacing up not just for the finish line, but for a purpose that runs deeper: empowering local youth to dream big, stay safe, and reach their full potential.

Every stride they take brings us closer to a future where every child in Lawrence has access to mentorship, meals, academic support, and a caring community.

Meet Mackenzie Hansen 🏃‍♀️

For Mackenzie Hansen, the Boston Marathon represents two lifelong loves: the city of Boston and the power of running.

“What started as a way to clear my head quickly became a passion that pushed me and grounded me,” Mackenzie shared. “Marrying those two loves — Boston and running — sparked a dream I never imagined possible: to run the iconic Boston Marathon.”

Mackenzie’s connection to the Club began years ago when her company received a charity bib for the Lawrence Boys & Girls Club. After volunteering and seeing the impact firsthand, she knew one day she wanted to run on behalf of the kids who fill our Club with energy, hope, and resilience.

Now, with her family cheering her on, Mackenzie’s dream is becoming a reality. Every mile she runs and every dollar she raises supports programs that provide safe spaces, mentorship, and opportunities for the next generation of youth in Lawrence.

“This race isn’t just about crossing a finish line,” Mackenzie says. “It’s about helping create brighter futures for local kids and inspiring my own children with what’s possible.”

So far, Mackenzie has raised $2,800 toward her $15,000 goal — and she’s just getting started. Follow her journey and track her progress here.

Meet Isabela Miller 🏃‍♀️

For Isabela Miller, the Boston Marathon is more than a race — it’s a chance to fuel opportunity for kids in a community close to her heart.

Growing up in North Andover, Isabela witnessed the incredible work the Club does for local youth — providing a safe place to learn, grow, and believe in themselves. A former Division I lacrosse player at the College of the Holy Cross, Isabela knows the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and community support.

“The Boys & Girls Club’s mission to empower youth through opportunity and support really resonates with me,” she says. “It reminds me of how much having a strong community can shape a person’s path.”

Through her fundraising campaign, Isabela hopes to give back to the organization that has uplifted so many children and families just miles from where she grew up.

So far, she’s raised $1,935 of her $15,000 goal, with every contribution going directly toward the Club’s life-changing programs — from academic tutoring and college readiness to meals, field trips, and leadership development.  Follow her journey and track her progress here.
